ART EXHIBITION BY CHINESE ARTIST WANG SHUPING 27 February - Sun 7 March 2010 | ION Art GalleryCo-organised by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Singapore, and CapitaLand, the Art Exhibition of Wang Shuping is a part of a year-long series of activities to celebrate CapitaLand’s 10th anniversary. The exhibition showcases some 30 ink and wash paintings of landscapes, portraits, flowers and birds, including Wang’s signature ‘Eagle’ paintings and specially created works incorporating the flora and fauna of Singapore. CapitaLand has donated one of Wang’s painting, “一览众山小” (Little Hills in Full View) for sale, with all proceeds to be donated to the CapitaLand Hope Foundation to aid underprivileged children. Wang, a renowned Chinese artist, is a graduate of the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. Over the past two decades, Wang’s works have won him many top awards in Chinese and international exhibitions and traditional Chinese painting contests. His paintings of eagles are well-known at home and overseas for their artistic originality and charm and have won him the honour of “Oriental King of Eagle”. His works are collected by the British Museum and the UN headquarters. The exhibition is presented by Ode to Art Contemporary. |
